Concrete Sawing in Plymouth

Plymouth is home to the largest fishing port in England and one of the largest harbours in Europe. Plymouth’s connection to the Navy, the Military and epic adventure is part of the fabric that makes Plymouth such a wonderful city. An endless stream of famous departures took place from Plymouth Sound. In 1620 the Mayflower carried the Pilgrim Fathers away to the New World. Sir Francis Drake began his circumnavigation of the globe from the Sound in 1577. Captain James Cook set sail in 1768 on the expedition that rounded Cape Horn and reached Tahiti and HMS Beagle, carrying Charles Darwin, set sail from here on 2 December 1831.

Plymouth is also home to many engineering firsts, one of which is Smeaton’s Tower. Smeaton took inspiration from the structure of oak trees when he designed his lighthouse structure which became the template for all future lighthouses. The Royal Albert Bridge was considered an engineering marvel when it was constructed in 1854. Today, Plymouth is a bustling city that would make its forbearers proud and 24-7 Diamond Drilling and Sawing is part of ongoing maintenance and development of this iconic port.

Our engineers and operators are often asked to come up with solutions to novel problems in the construction and maintenance of roads, canals, harbour structures and buildings of all types. At 24-7, we have a range of diamond sawing equipment capable of handling anything that comes our way. Apart from our skilled operators and great equipment, an essential part of our success is strict adherence to health and safety best practises. 24-7 Diamond Drilling and Sawing is fully CHAS compliant.

Plymouth Concrete Sawing Case Study

Brief: 24-7 Diamond Drilling were contracted to carry out a diamond concrete sawing works on a renovation project of an old seaside dwelling being converted into apartments.

Solution: Concrete sawing equipment was used to saw the marked ground floor into sections, making it easier to breakout, sawing to the correct depth each time allowing for a more level finished floor, ready for the new surface to be laid. The concrete sections were then easier to remove and load onto a lorry for the contractor to dispose of. Creating a dust free environment also means that other services can work within the apartments without danger of inhalation of dust fumes. Health and Safety is paramount to 24-7 Diamond Drilling and Sawing Services Limited.
